My friend's name is Riya.

We are going to Mumbai next week.

Riya and Mumbai are proper nouns because they specify certain people and places.

3. Collective Noun

A collective noun is used to describe a group of people, animals, or things.

Examples: team, bunch, herd, flock.

The team won the match.

There are grape bunches on the table.

Team and Bunch are collective nouns since they are describing groups.

4. Material Noun

A material noun is the name of a substance or material that things are made of.

Examples: gold, water, wood, iron.

Gold has been used to make the necklace.

The table is a wooden table.

5. Abstract Noun

An abstract noun is a feeling, quality, or idea that is not visible or can be touched.

Examples: love, honesty, fear, courage.

Honesty is the best policy.

She was full of joy.

Easy Examples of Noun – Class 3

Some more nouns for Class 3 students are easy to learn.

Person: teacher, mother, doctor, Rahul

Place: school, park, Kolkata, zoo

Animal: lion, elephant, cat, dog

Thing: pen, book, chair, apple

Idea: kindness, happiness, truth

The difference between a Noun and a Pronoun for Class 3.

We say:

Ravi is a good boy. He likes to read books.
