School is a child’s second home as they spend a significant amount of their day on a campus which starts to feel like a home away from home. School is one of the most important institutions of society where we learn the core skills of life. Our entire personality is built on the experiences we go through in our school life and not just that it also has an influence on us . It is one of the most prominent parts of us, it contributes to our value system, our beliefs, our social conduct, our choices and life. There are so many valuable lessons and experiences which school gives us, these memories stay with us throughout our life. Right from the process of taking an admission into a school, giving your first interview to the last farewell it is an amazing roller coaster ride filled with loads and lots of treasured and cherished memories and experiences.

We are someone else when we enter the campus of a school but we are totally someone else when we come out of it. It transforms us into our best selves so that we become responsible citizens of tomorrow. Wherever we go, we don't just represent our family legacy and family name but we also represent our school and its legacy. School experiences give us everything in the right amount and fit whether they are the bitter sweet scolding and punishments from the teachers or life changing friendships.

There are countless memories which we hold in our heart when it comes to school. The most exciting part has to be the picnics where every year the entire class waits for it. The second best has to be the annual sports day and fest which each and every child looks forward to. Some of the students really dont look forward to the ptm’s and start thinking about all the things they have done all this while which will be reported to their parents but jokes apart we all are nervous yet excited to see our teachers alongside our parents and the report card. It is a wonderful feeling to be promoted to the next class and seeing your new book set, meeting new teachers and students, meeting the parents of our friends. Every student is on their best possible behaviour that day.

The thrill we seek when we get a responsibility in school is something which is indescribable whether it is an official work given by the teacher or an important post given, we put in our best possible efforts if we are made the leader or the monitor or the captain. All the while we are growing up we keep looking up at our seniors wanting to be like them and in no time we actually take over their place but before we realize it feels like time has flown like anything. The biggest achievement in school is felt when a teacher calls you by your name and remembers your name out of so many students. Teachers are so crucial because we remember all our teachers right from kindergarten to intermediate. They push our limits and recognise our talents which even we fail to see. An acknowledgement from a teacher is very valuable and motivating. If something in school goes well the entire day the child lights up and if something goes off they will be sad for the coming days. The entire mood of the child depends upon what kind of a day they had in school, they carry the energy of the school with them even after school but one thing is for sure as soon as they listen to the name of their school their face lights up and their voice becomes joyous whenever a child is being asked about what school do they study in, they take great pride in describing their school.

The school plans all the activities in such a way that we make an identity of our own, we learn to express ourselves and find a voice of our own. It puts a child in different settings so that they can learn the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship, sharing, leadership qualities, healthy competitions and so on. Every school wants the best for each of their children and it is such a big decision for the parents when they choose a school for their child because it's like choosing what their future is going to be like.

The memories and experiences of school life are so vivid in a child’s mind that they need no photograph to remember, they remember exact details of everything as it was only yesterday but yes when it comes to photographs getting dressed up for class photo felt like magical. Getting the class photograph handed over was just like getting a token of love and gratitude with all smiling places it was always such a happy picture.

Some high risk task for a child in school was always when they had to enter the staff room or the Principal office, these were the most high alert areas of the school which no child wanted to get in but there is always a special binding place for students in school outside the class which is lunch break.

Sharing of food has always been a part of Indian culture and its true that food brings people together, same was the feeling students feel during lunch. Friends who eat together stay together, going to the washroom together that is where students are in their most raw and authentic self.

The every day excitement of what to take for lunch the next day, getting your uniform ready and setting your bag according to the time tabel was magical.

PT periods and days when you wore the house dress were most important days of the week.

From the morning assembly to school getting over every day was different and special in its own way for a child in their school life and if you are lucky enough to meet the alumni of your school in a reunion or meet you get reminded of the good days of school which stay forever with you.
