Fun English Speaking Challenges For Kids At Home

Learning English language is very important and we can achieve it by certain challenges at home. Getting kids to speak English at home doesn’t have to feel like homework or a classroom drill. With a little bit of creativity, everyday moments at home can turn into exciting English-speaking adventures.

1. One-Minute Talk

Challenge: Speak for 1 minute without stopping

Topics:

My favorite food.

My favorite superhero.

My pet.

Make it fun by introducing a silly timer.

2. Roll and Speak

How: Roll a dice. Each number has a task:

Describe a toy.

Tell a short story.

Say a line from an English song.

Say 5 animals.

Ask someone 3 questions.

Say a funny sentence.

3. Mystery Object

How: Put an object in a bag.

The child needs to feel it without looking and describe it in English

Whether it is soft or hard

How it feels

What he thinks it is.

4. Role-Play Time

Pretend to be:

A doctor

A teacher

A shopkeeper

A YouTuber or a TV host

Use props accordingly or wear customes.

5. Sentence Chain Game

How:

Person 1: I went to the park.

Person 2: I went to the park and saw a dog.

Person 3: adds more

Great for speaking!

6. Picture Talk

How: Show any book or picture 

Ask:

What do you see?

What is happening?

What do you think will happen next?

7. Silly Sentence Challenge

Make sentences using words like

bag, banana, arm etc.

8. Daily English Dare

One small speaking task per day:

Ask for water in English.

Describe your day in English

Teach one English word to someone.

Tip

Don’t correct much----confidence first, accuracy later. Let them speak and enjoy challenges in best possible way.
