Games are the best and easiest way to encourage a child and get them to start speaking in the English Language. Be it a child or an adult, anyone is always up for fun learning. As continuous practice gives them a grip to expand more. A few Amazing games are as below

  1. Hangman- In Hangman one player thinks of a word and draws a series of blank spaces each representing a letter in the word the other player tries to guess the letters for each incorrect guess a part of a hangman figure is drawn, and the goal is to guess the word before the entire figure is drawn.
  2. Scrabble- Scrabble is a word game where players use letter tiles to create words on a game board each letter has a point value and players aim to create high-scoring words by strategically placing tiles on the board. Kids, at the beginner level can even use the app Alphabear to get them to learn new vocabulary.
  3. Pictionary- Pictionary is a drawing and guessing game, players draw pictures to represent words or phrases and their team members try to guess what the drawings represent within a time limit.
  4. I Spy- I Spy is a game where one player selects an object within sight and says I spy with my little eye something that is colour starting with a letter, then other players take turns guessing what the chosen object is based on the clues provided.
  5. The Alphabet game- The alphabet game can be played in various ways, One way is in this game players take turns naming words that start with each letter of the alphabet in order, for example, the first player might say apple, and the next player says banana and so on. Another way to play is that a player tells the word ‘Apple’ and the other player gives a word with the end letter like ‘Elephant’ and next says ‘Tiger’ and so on.
  6. Word search- Word search puzzles provide a grid of letters with hidden words to find players’ circles or mark the words they discover within the grid, we can find many books and apps for this available nowadays. Infinite Word Search app is a fabulous app for kids to develop concentration and be able to remember new words.
  7. Opposites Attract- Opposites attract, This game involves identifying opposite words one player says a word and the others must quickly come up with its opposite. For example if ‘big’ then the opponent says ‘small’ might be the opposite.
  8. Puzzles and crosswords- Puzzles and crosswords are brain-teasing games that involve solving clues to fill in a grid of words or numbers crossword. Word Beach app and Word Cross are amazing for kids to find practice some fun puzzles and crosswords.
  9. Funny story making- Funny sentences players take turns adding words to a sentence to create a funny or nonsensical story each player contributes one word and the story continues to build where the kids have a gala time while learning logic and sentence formations.
  10. Name 5- In this game players take turns naming five things that fit a particular category in a limited time. For example: ‘Name 5 fruits’ or ‘Name 5 countries’.
