As the child starts making sounds, it's the most joyous moment for the parents. Simple words like “mama” and “papa” are huge milestones for them. They cherish those moments for their lifetime. Then slowly the kids move on to mimicking different sounds and talk, they come across. 

Initially they start with sounds of animals as they listen to them easily in their environment. They are exciting and enjoyable to do for the kids. They are the first steps for the child to build their language and speech development.

When Do Kids Begin Learning Animal Sounds?

At around the age of 6 to 11 months the kids begin their first sounds and words. They love the simple easy songs, rhymes and sounds which have little touch of music in them. It excites them and takes them one step ahead in learning new sounds.

1. Mimicking Animal sound

2. Rhymes and songs 

Kids love to listen to songs and rhymes. It makes their learning process faster. Parents can play rhymes related to animals and their sounds while singing along with hand gestures to make it more interesting and attractive.

3. Role playing technique

This activity can be played in groups. Two groups can be made. One group can make animal sounds and another one can guess which sound is being portrayed. This activity helps the kids to relate sound with the animals.

4. Outdoor activity 

Parents should try to take the kids on a visit to a zoo or farms where they can listen directly to the animal sounds and have real time experience.

5. Play the sound

The sound of animals can be played on television or any music system and the kids can recognize the sound.
